Our Trustees are:

Isuru Perera was appointed as the Trust Secretary, and Asoka Siriwardane as the Treasurer.

The Trust’s organization structure underwent a change in April 2024 owing to the Settlor Dr. Ranasinha stepping down due to advanced age and transferring all his powers and responsibilities as Settlor to a newly created post of “Administrator” with Mrs Vajira Silva appointed to this position who for all intent and purposes will function as the de-facto Settlor.

According to the Trust Agreement the Public Trustee is an ex-officio trustee. Our Trust Members come from varying professional backgrounds and have made notable contributions to the country’s public life, and to conservation and bio-diversity.  A resume of their backgrounds is briefly given below.

Mr. Asoka Siriwardane

Mr. Siriwardane is a telecommunications professional, having served on several international bodies and worked in a number of countries including UK (Commonwealth Telecom Organisation) and the UAE (Etisalat Head Office).  A graduate of the Peradeniya University, and the Telecommunications Management College, London, his recent experience had been with Sri Lanka Telecom where he served as Deputy General Manager, Marketing, and later as a Consultant. On retirement, he had a stint as Director/ Consultant, Frontline Telecom Consultants, Colombo.

His interests are travel, photography and conservation. He is a past president of the Lionel Wendt based Photographic Society of Sri Lanka, and a vice-president of the Sri Lanka Natural History Society, while functioning presently as its Honorary Secretary. He had been as a trustee of the Rainforest Trust of Sri Lanka since 2008. 

 

Dr. Mala Tudawe

Dr. Mala Nandanee Tudawe- Medical Specialist in the field of Hematology- MBBS. D path, MD, MS, FSLCH  She was the Head of the Department at the Institute of Pathology- National Hospital Colombo, before retiring from Public service after 31 years of practice. She is currently a visiting Haematologist at Durdans private Hospital. She has over 25 articles published in international medical journals; over 50 articles published in peer reviewed journals and had contributed to numerous health related articles in national newspapers.
